IT Infrastructure
We have experience of a wide range of IT
Infrastructure, from small offices running Windows through to large
companies with an environment, which includes a number of different
operating systems. We have the experience to help companies to design
and build large infrastructure projects, or to improve their existing
infrastructure.
We will evaluate and improve your existing infrastructure in terms of:
- Functionality - The capabilities
of the system
- Are you receiving the results you
require?
- Is there a potential business
benefit not yet explored?
- Stability - Is the system
reliable?
- Security - Is the system
adequately secure from possible danger?
- Physical - Theft, Power Cut
- Software - Virus
- Hacking - Data Loss, Data Theft
- Disaster Recovery - Are plans in
place?
- Support - Are sufficient
contracts in place?
- Documentation - Is the system
sufficiently documented?
Our Way of Working
In the case of IT
Infrastructure projects or support, the initiative is really with the
customer.
We may be brought in to:
- Initiate an infrastructure
project
- Help with a project as an extra
pair of hands
- To maintain an existing system
- To troubleshoot a problem
- To advise on new technology
The real value of our services is
realised when we are able to help you with your infrastructure through
IT Management Services. Although IT Infrastructure is primarily a
technical issue, priorities and investments in this area depend on the
nature of your company.
For example, financial services companies would regard the data that
they carry about their customers as highly confidential and would be
prepared to invest heavily to secure that data. Other companies hold
less sensitive information and will judge that the risk and consequences
of data theft, warrant a smaller investment.
Thompson Partnership would look at
your current infrastructure and at your business. We would draw up a
list of investments that would improve your systems. We will then
prioritise these investments by looking at risk/opportunity,
consequences and investment required.
Example: Project Python
This was a large project covering thirty sites across Europe. The
concepts were used on a further project covering the U.S.A. and
recently, in the Far East, Canada and South America.
